Jungle Island is about to see an extensive renovation that will run into the tens of millions of dollars.

The park, which has faced lower-than-expected attendance and financial woes since its 2003 move to Watson Island, will soon have dozens of new attractions, including Zip lines, pools, a “private beach club,” new animal environments and several eateries, according to the Miami Herald.

And according to John Dunlap, president of Jungle Island and CEO of Iconic Attractions Group, which manages the park, even more new attractions are to be disclosed soon.

“Our idea with Jungle Island is to transform from a zoological attraction where people come and see animals to an ecological adventure park,” Dunlap told the newspaper. [Miami Herald] – Christopher Cameron
