A Mediterranean-style villa in Palm Beach finally changed hands more than eight years after first being put on the market for sale.

The four-bedroom, 6,600 square foot home sold for nearly $5 million last week. It was originally constructed in 1982. The seller is a Delaware corporation called Clarke Avenue Investments, which paid about $3.3 million for the 180 Barton Avenue property in 2002.

A company called 180 Barton LLC is the buyer. It is managed by a Philadelphia attorney.

Clarke first put the property up for sale for $9.5 million in early 2006, according to the Palm Beach Daily News. It was unable to sell the home before the listing expired in June 2009.

Last week’s transaction was arranged by Linda Gary and Bobby Goodnough of Linda A. Gary Real Estate. [Palm Beach Daily News]Eric Kalis
