Cavache Properties acquired the Acqua Camino condominium in Pompano Beach with plans to convert the eight-unit building into vacation rentals.

The developer bought the 1705 North Riverside Drive property for $1.1 million. A company tied to Fort Lauderdale’s Calvary Chapel sold it to Cavache, which plans to renovate the units in preparation for the conversion. Acqua Camino is located along the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway and has 100 feet of dockage.

Cavache wants permits to build additional docks, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The company is slated to launch sales within a month. Prices would start at about $250,000.

“We think we’re filling a niche,” Cavache’s Adam Adache told the Sun-Sentinel. “I think a lot of people would love to be in that neighborhood, on the Intracoastal, near the beach.”

Cavache announced plans for a 21-townhome project at 14th Street and Ocean Drive in December 2013. That development is more than 50 percent sold, with construction scheduled to begin in October. [Sun-Sentinel]Eric Kalis
