An arbitrator’s findings could impact the Miami-Dade Circuit Court litigation between two Miami Worldcenter partners and Miami real estate broker Edie Laquer.

Worldcenter developers Arthur Falcone and Marc Roberts intend to use last month’s conclusions from arbitrator Thomas Schultz in the pending case. Laquer has been suing Falcone and Roberts since 2008 over a stake in Worldcenter that Laquer claims was promised to her. She did not participate in the arbitration.

Schultz ruled that Falcone and his companies did not violate any agreements or breach any duties to Laquer, who argued that Falcone was obligated to defend against foreclosures filed against the properties involved.

“There was no fiduciary or confidential relationship between Falcone and Laquer,” Schultz wrote, as cited by the Daily Business Review.

Laquer told the Review she chose not to get involved in the arbitration to avoid compromising the pending Miami-Dade Circuit Court case. [Daily Business Review]Eric Kalis
