Miami-based builder Newgard Development Group is seeking a zoning variance to build a 60-unit luxury condominium and marina set on Terminal Island.
Newgard’s Harvey Hernandez pitched the development, designed by Foster + Partners, to Miami Beach City Manager Jimmy Morales last week, according to Curbed. He promised to build new facilities for the community in return, paid for by the city.
Newgard is completing its 46-story BrickellHouse condo at 1200 Brickell Bay Drive in Brickell this year, which broke ground in September 2012 and recently secured a $27 million mortgage for the project. [Curbed] — Angela Hunt
