Construction is beginning soon on the 10-story structure, which architect Kobi Karp designed.

The owners of a nearby hotel called Berkeley Shores pitched a similar demolition plan. The Historic Preservation Board passed on it twice. The architect, ADD Inc., is working on a revised design to propose to the board in November. [exMiami]Mark Maurer
