A bayfront Miami Beach duplex once owned and inhabited by famed Miami Modern architect, the late Morris Lapidus, has sold for $1.3 million, according to the seller’s brokers, Nelson Gonzalez and Allison Turk of EWM/Christie’s.

The residence, located at 3 Island Avenue next to The Standard Lido Spa in Miami Beach, was recently renovated. It boasts a spacious second-floor balcony and a terrace with an outdoor shower on the first level, according to an EWM/Christie’s release.

“This is a unique and noteworthy sale, representing not only a piece of South Florida history, but incredible value in our luxury market,” Turk said in the release. “Purchasing a two-story waterfront apartment of this size, and in one of the most coveted areas of Miami Beach, is a significant investment and a testament to the values to be found in our area.” — Emily Schmall
