The owners of Downtown Miami’s 900 Biscayne are suing the construction company that built the residential skyscraper for allegedly breaching a 2005 construction contract to build the 63-floor condominium tower by failing to remedy construction defects, specifically the rooftop air conditioning units and the waterproofing in the garage, the legal trade journal, Law360 reported. On Monday, 900 Biscayne LLC sued Pavarini Construction in Florida State Court for unspecified damages. “900 Biscayne has been damaged by the failure of Pavarini to correct all of the defects with the project in accordance with its obligations under the construction contract,” the suit said. In addition to the breach of contract claim, 900 Biscayne claims that Pavarini violated the building code and is asking for damages under Florida law, according to Law360. —Christopher Cameron
