Alex Dominguez, who is currently running for the Miami commissioner District 3 seat currently held by Frank Carollo, has sent out an email indicating that he would not necessarily support a $200 million tax payer funded subsidy for the renovation of the Dolphins’ stadium. The email’s subject line reads: “Miami Dolphins Funding…Maybe!!!” In the email he argues that Broward should be contributing 50 percent of the funds, that there should be a public vote and that the city will needs paid back for its investment.
The controversial project calls for taxpayers to bank roll half of the $400 million renovation of Related chairman Stephen Ross’ Sun Life Stadium. [SFBJ] —Christopher Cameron
