A majority of Miami-Dade Commissioners voted today to support Stephen Ross’s plan to split the cost of a $400 million renovation to the Miami Dolphin’s privately-owned stadium with taxpayers, the South Florida Business Journal reported. The commissioners voted to support raising the bed tax on mainland hotels by 1 percent to help raise nearly $200 million.
Although the vote is non-binding, it will influence the decision of the Florida Legislature. The legislature is also considering a $3 million tax rebate for the team.
