Plans to develop two sound stages, office space and digital imaging facilities totaling 89,000 square feet at the former Miami Skills Center, are being placed on hold until the Midtown Community Redevelopment Agency has gained a better understanding of the financial structure of the Port Miami tunnel project, Miami Today reported. The redevelopment agency Bermello Ajamil & Partners is paying the debt service on the entire $50 million obligation on the building and will begin considering other uses for the space, including placing it back on the market (note: correction appended). The site, now known as the Miami Entertainment Center, is located at 29 NW 13th Street. It was purchased for $3.1 million from the Miami-Dade County public school system in 2011.
