A Hollywood Hills home in the Bird Streets neighborhood offered a bit of everything as it topped out the list of L.A. County homes that went into contract last week.
The four-bed, fourth-bath residence at 1424 Tanager Way promoted its views of Los Angeles, a water-and-fire feature leading up to the home’s entry and a 100-year-old olive tree encased in glass to anchor the living room.
With a listing just under $16 million, the property was the priciest home under contract in the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles produced by Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes team. The report counts signed contracts in L.A. County of homes listed in the MLS at $4 million or more.
The Beverly Hills Estates’ Stephen Sweeney holds the Tanager Way listing.
Property records show the seller is Steven Lintz, who bought the home in 2021 for $10.2 million. It hit the market in July, with the asking price unchanged since that time. Lintz and the Tanager Way address are tied to an LLC called Lunex Labs, according to state records.
On about a third of an acre, the Paul McClean-designed home is 5,350 square feet. Highlights include porcelain flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows and a smart-home control system, according to the listing. It also has a double water wall with fire in between.
Running second to the Bird Streets property is a Hancock Park home listed for $10.5 million that went into contrast last week.
The home at 424 South Rimpau Boulevard is listed by The Agency’s Jonathan Ruiz.
Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl and his wife Luz Esther Kyncl bought the home in 2014 for $7.7 million, property records show. The home first went on the market in February for $11.5 million, according to Zillow.
The gated property counts six beds and eight baths across 7,886 square feet. Amenities of the home built in 1924 include a theater, family room bar, private terrace for the primary suite, pool, spa and outdoor kitchen.
Across L.A. County a total of 19 homes went into contract last week, amounting to $122.7 million in asking dollar volume, Eklund Gomes reported. That compares with the prior seven-day period’s 12 contracts, tallying to $108 million in asking dollar volume.
