A French Chateau in Los Angeles’ Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood topped last week’s list of the county’s largest signed contracts.
That’s according to the latest Eklund Weekly Luxury Report LA from Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes team, which tallies signed contracts of Los Angeles County homes listed above $4 million on the MLS.
The mansion with more than 16,000 square feet in the gated Beverly Park community is located at 51 Beverly Park Way and has an asking price of $48.5 million. The home has nine beds and 13 baths.
Property records show the sellers are Larry Cohen and his wife Paulette.
Compass’ Sally Forster Jones has the listing, which hit the market in January.
It sits on a nearly 2-acre lot with an interior that includes antique French chandeliers, seven fireplaces and marble and travertine floors, according to the listing. A billiard room, theater, tennis court, gardens and vineyard are also part of the property.
The county’s next largest contract signed last week is the home at 2630 Harlesden Court, which is listed for just under $13 million.
The Mid-Century home in Nichols Canyon is about 9,000 square feet with six beds and nine baths. It sits on over an acre with a separate guest house, recording studio or office space, pool and theater.
The seller is a family trust managed by a Santa Monica-based wealth management firm, according to property records.
The Beverly Hills Estates’ Rayni and Branden Williams have the listing, which entered the market in mid-August.
Overall, there were 27 signed contracts in L.A. County last week, with all but one representing single-family residential properties. Those listings equate to $208 million in volume based on the homes’ listing prices, according to the Eklund report. This compares with 20 contracts totaling $121 million in the prior week.
