South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, has landed Bulgari, Cartier and Gucci as tenants.
The shopping center, owned by locally based C.J. Segerstrom & Sons, has leased more than 30,000 square feet to the luxury global brands at 3333 Bristol Street, L.A. Business First reported. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Italian luxury retailer Bulgari, which sells jewelry, watches, fragrances, accessories and leather goods, opened a 5,000-square-foot flagship boutique that features North America’s first Bulgari Lounge café and bar.
French luxury retailer Cartier has expanded into an 8,000-square-foot flagship boutique to sell its jewelry, leather goods, watches, sunglasses and eyewear.
And Italian luxury retailer Gucci opened a two-story, 17,500-square-foot flagship store to sell its handbags, ready-to-wear fashion, footwear, accessories and home decoration items. Gucci said it will feature exclusive items available only at South Coast Plaza, including leather handbags.
South Coast Plaza officials said the 57-year-old indoor mall now has more than 250 luxury retailers and restaurants, including recent boutique openings Graff, Van Cleef & Arpels and Byredo, as well as Balmain, Balenciaga, Bucherer, Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni and Palm Angels, according to Bisnow.
New brands coming to the 2.8 million-square-foot mall this year include Alaia, Amiri, Armani Caffe, Courrèges, Jacques Marie Mage, Mejuri and Santa Maria Novella, and existing tenants with plans for new and expanded boutiques include Baccarat, Chloé, Chopard, Dior Homme, Lanvin, Rolex and Zegna.
In September, Segerstrom and Houston-based Hines moved forward with plans to build an urban-retail village in Santa Ana, just north of Segerstrom’s South Coast Plaza.
An affiliate of the Costa Mesa-based firm filed plans to redevelop the 17.2-acre South Coast Plaza Village shopping center at 1621 Sunflower Avenue with a 1.9 million square foot mixed-use development with nearly 1,600 homes.
Segerstrom also filed plans to replace an office complex in Santa Ana with a $126 million industrial R&D campus at 3100, 3110 and 3120 West Lake Center Drive.
