Zedd, a Grammy Award-winning disc jockey and record producer, has closed an $18.4 million deal to buy Odin, a luxury mansion at 16036 Woodvale Road in Encino’s Royal Oaks enclave. The home on almost a 1-acre lot was listed for about $23 million on June 28.

It is the priciest closing in Encino this year, according to representatives of co-listing agent Sally Forster Jones of Compass and buying agent David Kramer of Hilton & Hyland. Kramer co-represented the buyer with Andrew Buss, also of Hilton & Hyland.

The other co-lister was Josh Altman of The Altman Brothers at Douglas Elliman. The seller was an entity named 16036 Woodvale LLC; a managing member of the group is Joseph Peretz, who also helms the home’s developer JVE Development.

The deal for the 18,000-square-foot closed Nov. 28.

Odin’s sale follows the January 2023 sale of its sibling home, nicknamed Onin, located at 16041 Woodvale Road. The 19,500-square-foot home sold for $18 million. Both homes share something of the same parents — they were built by JVE Development and the principal architect for Onin and Odin was Eran Gispan. Jae Omar designed both homes.

Odin’s style stems from Scandinavian design, with geometric white walls and wood paneling as dominant motifs. The listing describes the property as a mix of farmhouse architecture and modern textures “infused with Nordic inspiration,” befitting its name after the Norse war god.

It features a 1-bed, 1-bathroom guest house, as well as amenities such as a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, a bowling alley, an outdoor sports court, a plunge pool, a steam room and Finnish-inspired sauna.

Zedd has shopped for homes in Encino in recent years. In September 2021, he bought a $15.2 million home at 3904 Valley Meadow Road, formerly owned by celebrities Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.

Earlier this year, Zedd sold a Benedict Canyon home for $18 million. Kramer and Buss of Hilton & Hyland served as the listing agents for that home at 3000 Benedict Road.

The wider neighborhood of Encino has the reputation for relatively modest home prices. In October, the median price for a home in the San Fernando Valley enclave was about $1.4 million, according to Redfin.
