Luxury residential agent Aaron Kirman announced that his AKG Christie’s International Real Estate will open its third office, located in L.A.’s exclusive Brentwood neighborhood, and that top agent Cindy Ambuehl has affiliated with the office.
Kirman said that Ambuehl will be the first of about six agents who will work in the new 3,500-square-foot Brentwood office at 11911 San Vicente Boulevard.
“The goal at AKG is to dominate luxury in all of the important marketplaces in Los Angeles County. Brentwood is right in our backyard,” he explained.
Kirman forecast that the new office’s sales volume will be $2 billion by 2025. He added that announcements of more top agents affiliating with the Brentwood office will be made in upcoming weeks.
The Hollywood Reporter first published a story on Ambuehl affiliating with AKG on June 13.
Kirman made headlines in November when he changed affiliations from Compass to Christie’s. Since then, he has opened an office in Beverly Hills and another one in Encino.
Both Kirman and Ambuehl were ranked in TRD’s 2022 Top Los Angeles Brokers list. Kirman’s group was ranked number one with sales of $1.3 billion recorded on MLS. Ambuehl was ranked 16, with sales volume of $268 million.
Ambuehl had worked with Compass since 2019. She will bring her team of five people to the new Brentwood office. She said that she departed Compass on amicable terms. She affiliated with AKG because she felt the new company had a similar boutique firm culture to her group.
Ambuehl focuses on Brentwood, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. She noted that the Westside has grown in popularity since the pandemic and business has rallied since the implementation of Los Angeles’ ULA transfer tax on April 1.
“It turned our market on its heels in February and March. April was a recovery month,” Ambuehl said of the transfer tax’s effect on business. “”But things are moving. The good (listings) always move. There always will be buyers who want to move here and there always will be sellers.”
