The coronavirus has put a dent in the Los Angeles luxury market, but Los Angeles Lakers all-star and soon-to-be free agent Anthony Davis is undeterred.

The star forward has listed his basketball gym-equipped Westlake Village mansion for $8 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Davis bought the 16,000-square-foot home on 2.3 acres for just under $7.5 million in 2018, according to the report. That was a little under a year before joining LeBron James — King James has two homes in Brentwood — on the Lakers.

It includes a two-hoop indoor basketball gymnasium, with a dome ceiling, skylights and its own viewing box. Built in 1996, the home was later expanded and now includes five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a home theater. The backyard has a large infinity pool — complete with a huge slide — and views of the surrounding mountains and a nearby golf course.

The statewide stay-at-home order has hobbled residential home sales in L.A. and eliminated in-person showings. Brokers had been expecting sales drops of as much as 40 percent this month.

Davis, meanwhile, had been renting a home in Bel Air since last fall, shortly after signing a short-term deal with Lakers. In January, he declined the Lakers’ offer for a four-year contract worth $146 million, in favor of entering free agency. [LAT]Dennis Lynch
