Continuum Partners is moving forward with a 107,000-square-foot office and retail complex in the Arts District, in an industrial area that has also seen recent some retail and creative office conversions.
The Denver-based developer filed a demolition permit to clear a roughly 71,500-square-foot lot at 640 S. Santa Fe Avenue. The lot now has a 36,000-square-foot cold storage facility there.
Continuum’s new project, called Produce LA, would be five stories and include a parking garage for 300 vehicles, according to Urbanize.
The firm released renderings of the project last year that show floor-to-ceiling glass windows on three upper office floors, a roof deck, and diagonal ornamentation on the façade.
The offices have open floor plans. Denver architecture firm ArcS designed the project.
The site is a block south of Whittier Boulevard near the L.A. River in a mostly industrial area that’s seen some retail and creative office development.
Los Feliz-based firm Koar is working on a creative office development across the street from Continuum’s project.
