Warner Center mega-development moves ahead, with modified plans

The project will have 10 new buildings and more than 1,000 residential units

UPDATED, April 6, 9:20 a.m.: New details for the development of the sprawling Warner Center campus, set to deliver over 1,000 units and more than 1 million square feet of commercial space to Woodland Hills, show a slightly different plan.

The project now calls for 10 buildings that would contain a total of 1,029 units and 228 hotel rooms, according to the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council. At least 1.25 million square feet will be dedicated to office, retail and restaurant space, Curbed reported.

That’s a modest departure from its original plans filed in early 2017. At that time, Adler Realty Investments was proposing nine buildings with 1,000 residential units, 222 hotel rooms and 1.4 million square feet of commercial space.

The $1 billion mixed-use complex is set to rise at the intersection of Burbank and De Soto boulevards in Burbank, on the site of a former office park. It is part of the Warner Center 2035 Plan, which city officials hope will help transform Burbank from a business hub to a residential neighborhood.

VTBS Architects, based in Santa Monica, is designing the 24-acre project. It will feature a series of 15-story buildings, with one larger tower rising 24 stories. [Curbed] — Natalie Hoberman
