Basketball star LeBron James dropped $23 million to acquire a 15,850-square-foot mansion in Brentwood this week. That’s $2 million more than he paid when he purchased a house in the same neighborhood just two years ago. This time, the newly-built property includes eight bedrooms, a cigar room and beer on tap. Santiago Arana of the Agency brokered the deal for the four-time NBA champ.
In an unexpected turn of events, Detroit Pistons owner and Platinum Equity chief exec Tom Gores paid $38 million to buy his former home in Beverly Park. He sold the home last year as part of a switcheroo deal where Gores traded several properties to acquire the Gala Asher-developed $100 million spec in the Holmby Hills. The 24,000-square-foot Beverly Park pad, designed by Donald Ayres, contains seven bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, an expansive swimming pool, outdoor lounge area and several gardens.
Over in the San Gabriel Valley, billionaire In-N-Out Burger heiress Lynsi Snyder listed her 19,000-square-foot mansion in the glitzy Bradbury neighborhood for $19.8 million. That’s equivalent to roughly 5.47 million Double-Double cheeseburgers at the fast food joint. The home includes 10 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, a guest house, cabana, full-size basketball and tennis courts and a dance studio. A tasting room — for what I could only imagine to be In-N-Out delicacies — can also be found inside. Robin Marquez of Coldwell Banker has the listing.
Not to be left behind, hip hop star Big Sean snagged the home of Guns N’ Roses’ guitarist Slash for $8.7 million. The 11,000-square-foot pad in Beverly Hills, which includes seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, volleyball court and — of course — a stripper pole, had been on the market since Slash was handed the divorce papers from his former wife in 2014. The Altman Brothers’ Josh and Matt Altman shared the listing with Jordan Cohen of RE/MAX Olson & Associates. Kofi Nartey and Kevin Crane of Compass represented Big Sean.
