CIM Group came in like a wrecking ball. The prolific developer has begun demolishing a former West Los Angeles car dealership and plans to replace it with an ambitious mixed-use project.

The L.A.-based real estate company intends to build a five-story project at 11752 Santa Monica Boulevard with 154 apartments, 311 parking spots and 15,000 square feet of retail space, according to Urbanize. The site sits on 1.33 acres of land, and 16 of the apartments will be designated for very low-income households.
