Champion Real Estate Company may have ditched its plan to build lofts for hipsters in favor of restaurants that serve up “hipster perfection,” according to marketing materials, which describe the project as having an “urban boho chic vibe.”

The company began marketing the project last week, using a brochure that describes its plan to redevelop Echo Park’s storefronts at 1485-1501 W. Sunset Boulevard into a restaurant project dubbed “BrickWorks.”

It plans to remodel the one- and two-story buildings on either side of the existing A Grocery Warehouse into a trendy food court, marketing materials show. The site would include outdoor seating and parking for up to 44 vehicles, the Eastsider reported.

Champion acquired the property for $9.5 million in March. At the time, Champion announced plans to build residential lofts on the property’s parking lot, but the recent marketing materials make no mention of a residential portion. The brochure only mentions space for up to 10 restaurants on the strip’s 15,000 square feet of retail space.

Champion is now looking for tenants to fill the 855 to 2,854-square-foot spaces at the site, which is set to open by the end of next year. Zachary Card of CBRE has the listing.
