Thomas Barrack Jr., chief executive of private equity firm Colony Capital and a close friend of President Donald Trump, is building a hideaway above the Bel Air Country Club.

The former Miramax chairman, who organized Trump’s inauguration events, filed plans to construct a 77,441-square-foot estate with a guest house and staff quarters, Curbed reported. Recent ariel photos show that construction on the giant house is already underway.

Controversial architect Peter Marino is designing the home, which will also have a pool, a cabana and a tennis pavilion, according to planning documents.

Barrack bought the property in 2010 for $35 million, records show.

Despite being Trump’s party planner, Barrack recently made headlines when he removed himself for consideration for a cabinet position in Trump’s administration.

But the investor still supports the president. Last year, he established a Trump Super PAC, which also drew $2 million from L.A. developer Geoff Palmer. [Curbed] — Subrina Hudson
