Jamison is at it again.
The Koreatown developer submitted plans Monday to build a 123-unit structure on top of a parking garage at 678 South Ardmore Avenue — its seventh project in less than three months.
The plans call for a 117,000-square-foot, seven-story building, Urbanize first reported. The lot spans just shy of an acre and construction is set to begin early 2018, according to CoStar.
This isn’t Jamison’s first garage-topping project in recent history. The mega landlord has a 132-unit complex — to be built atop a four-level parking lot — in the works just five blocks east on South Western Avenue.
In September alone, Jamison filed at least six new projects with city planning. The two biggest are a 641-unit mixed-use complex next to one of its office buildings at 3440 Wilshire Boulevard and a pair of 23-story buildings to house 760 units at 3600 Wilshire Boulevard.
The longtime office landlord has taken on residential with full force in recent years, in many cases converting its office holdings in gentrifying Koreatown to apartments. [Urbanize] — Cathaleen Chen
