One leg of a development battle between Beny Alagem’s Oasis West Realty and the Beverly Hills subsidiary of China’s Wanda Group has come to a close.

The Beverly Hills Planning Commission on Wednesday approved Wanda’s One Beverly Hills development in a 3-1 vote, with one commissioner absent from the meeting. It will now go to City Council for review, with the commission’s recommendation that it be approved.

Representatives of Alagem’s Beverly Hilton, which sits next to the now-vacant lot that would become One Beverly Hills, argued in hearings that the development’s loading dock would interfere with the entrance of the Hilton.

The commission suggests, in its recommendation to the council, that a traffic analysis occur one year into the project’s opening to determine if mitigations are necessary. The commission also requested the option to review the project within the first year.

The project would modify the previously approved development at 9900 Wilshire to include 134 hotel rooms and to reduce the number of condos, eliminating a retail component.
