Kilroy’s Columbia Square residences to ask up to $22,500 a month

The residential component of Kilroy Realty Corp.’s massive Columbia Square redevelopment in Hollywood is slated to begin leasing this month, with rents ranging from $3,500 a month for an unfurnished one-bedroom apartment to $22,500 for a penthouse, the company announced Tuesday.

The property, known as the Hollywood Proper Residences, will be operated by Proper Hospitality, lead by Viceroy Hotel alumnus Brad Korzen, and designed by Kelly Wearstler Interior Design.

The 200 apartments, available both furnished and unfurnished, can be rented for a minimum of one month to over a year. They range in size from 753 to 2,582 square feet and include both one- and two-bedroom homes. The furnished apartments have custom furniture and include original works by local Los Angeles artists, Sonos speakers and Keypr tablet devices. The penthouses have their own private plunge pools.

Amenities for the building include a rooftop pool with cabanas, a bar, a fitness center with a yoga patio and valet parking.

“We’re creating a haven for today’s creative elite – inspired by the grandeur and dreams of Hollywood’s Golden Age, but completely modern, service-oriented, ultra-comfortable, tech-forward, and beautifully designed,” Korzen said.

Kilroy acquired the Columbia Square site, formerly the radio and television studio home for CBS West Coast from 1938 to 2007, for $65 million in 2012 with a view towards transforming it into an eclectic, mixed-use campus with retail, creative office, residential and studio space.

Tenants such as Viacom have already inked deals to move into the office component.

The residences, which are still under construction, are slated to open in June.
