City Century LLC, a subsidiary of Shanghai-based real estate firm ShengLong Group, has filed plans for its first residential building in South Park, according to Urbanize.
The 24-story property, at 1229 S. Grand Avenue, would comprise 161 condominiums, just over 2,000 square feet of commercial space on the lower level and a 215-car parking garage, plans show.
The building is just the first of four developments that ShengLong wants to build in the area. Its other proposals include plans for a 37-story tower on the corner of 12th Street and Grand Avenue.
“Downtown still has a lot of potential to grow,” Joseph Lin, managing partner of developer City Century, told the LA Times last year. “Our goal is to build 1,500 units.” [Urbanize] — Katherine Clarke
