Jamison Services has filed plans to build two new mixed-use residential and retail complexes near stations on the Metro’s purple line in Koreatown, according to plans filed with the city.
The first, at 427 S. Normandie Avenue, will comprise 224 apartments across seven stories and a 373-space parking garage.
A historic church on the corner of the development site will be preserved and integrated into the design of the new building, a Jamison spokesperson said.
The second property, at Manhattan Place and 7th Street, will have 160 units across seven stories, 10,300 square feet of commercial space and parking for 263 cars. Urbanize said.
Jamison, best known as a no-frills office landlord, has jumped into the residential market in recent months and currently has 27 projects in the works, according to a recent report.
Jaime Lee, CEO of the firm’s commercial leasing and asset management arm and the daughter of its founder, Dr. Lee, recently told the Wall Street Journal that she’s trying to build as quickly as possible before the market begins to turn.
“People are working against the clock right now,” she said. “We’re coming to market as quickly as we can.” [Urbanize] – Katherine Clarke
