This dataset shows how many commercial-to-residential conversion projects are currently underway across New York City.
The Real Deal analyzed major alteration permits active as of Nov. 30, 2023 in the Department of Buildings database, looking at buildings that currently have no residential units but have plans to add 10 or more.
The dataset includes a ranking of the top 20 neighborhoods for commercial-to-residential conversion ranked by number of proposed units, as well as details on all 63 conversion projects examined, including address, neighborhood, number of proposed units and contact information.
