A meticulously restored English manor-style house in Chicago’s North Shore is set to hit the market in February for just under $11 million.

An entity tied to Joe Cacciatore, the owner and CEO of Chicago’s Jos. Cacciatore & Company Real Estate, tapped Ryan Preuett of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty to find a buyer for his Tudor Revival home in Winnetka, Crain’s reported

The property at 140 Sheridan Road, built in 1928 and designed by British architect Ernest Mayo, was transformed over 17 months under the guidance of Greta Cacciatore, an expert in European architectural design.

The renovation focused on restoring the home’s original features, including the pointed arches, tall window bays and triple-brick exterior walls, while introducing modern touches to enhance functionality. The residence sits on more than an acre and includes an additional buildable 4,000-square-foot lot, providing ample space for future development.

The home’s standout feature is its expansive living room, measuring 32 by 20 feet, with a ceiling height that exceeds 20 feet.

The extensive renovation also included a redesigned kitchen, modernized sunroom and the addition of custom oak flooring and lime-wash paint that gives the plaster walls a soft, textured appearance. New windows were installed to maintain the original look of the home while ensuring energy efficiency.

The landscaping was also updated with over 300 boxwoods, restoring the property’s English garden aesthetic.

Winnetka recorded 99 sales of $4 million or more last year, trailing just behind the 2022 peak of 136. This trend has continued into this year, with several multimillion dollar homes having already been sold this month.

These include the Jan. 8 sale of a newly built six-bedroom home on Westmoor Trail, which sold for just over $4.67 million, or $667 per square foot. About a week later, the “Home Alone” house, at 671 Lincoln Avenue, sold for $5.5 million. The iconic home traded hands for just under $1,080 per square foot, about 4.7 percent above the seller’s asking price of $1,030 per square foot.
