Matt Nagy, the former head coach of the Chicago Bears, listed his Lake Bluff mansion for less than his agents had previously hinted.
The six-bedroom home at 570 Lansdowne Lane hit the market Monday with a $5.95 million asking price. The home had appeared as a “coming soon” listing that would be priced around $6.2 million, Crain’s reported.
Nagy and his wife Stacey, who couldn’t be reached by the publication for a comment, spent $2.75 million on the 7,141-square-foot home in 2018, shortly after he was named head coach of the Bears in January of that year.
Nagy was named NFL Coach of the Year for his first season after he led the Bears to a 12-4 record, according to ESPN. He was never able to duplicate that success and had 8-8 records for 2019 and 2020. After ending 2021 with a 6-11 record, Nagy was fired.
The couple transformed the home in the four years they lived there. In addition to rehabbing all of the bathrooms and redoing lighting, millwork and drapery in the house, they also built an underground sports court.
The house was built in 2017 and sits on just over two acres of what was once a 20-acre estate. It still has the original bridge that leads into the driveway.
Other features of the home include a first-floor bedroom suite with a private patio, heated flooring and marble in the bathrooms and a home theater.
Nagy’s listing agent said the asking price was lower than initially planned because they were “watching the market and being realistic.”
Another mansion in Lake Bluff recently sold for $7.1 million. The Shores Acre Drive home was the second home in the suburb to sell for more than $7 million this spring.
