Blackhawks new defenseman Jake McCabe bought a four-bedroom house in Lincoln Park for $1.3 million after signing a four-year contract with the team in July.

McCabe and his wife, Gabriella, purchased the 3,200-square-foot home on Aug. 11, Cook County property records showed. It came on the market for $1.4 million in July and went under contract shortly after the price was cut to $1.3 million, according to the listing on Redfin. The couple has a $975,000 mortgage loan from City National Bank.

The 2013 house built has floor-to-ceiling windows on all three floors, a patio on the top floor and a two-and-a-half car garage. The McCabe’s are expected to pay annual property taxes of $17,000.

Two of Chicago’s 10 most expensive listings are in Lincoln Park. A six-bedroom, 25,000-square-foot house at 1932 North Burling Street is the priciest, asking $45 million since it hit the market in 2016. A 15,000-square-foot home at 1909 North Orchard Street, listed for $18 million, is the third priciest.

In March, a Lincoln Park mansion at 1930 North Orchard Street sold for $12.5 million in an off-market deal, setting a record for the most expensive sale since 2015 in the Chicago area.

Most recently, former race car driver Bobby Rahal sold his 7,000-square-foot Lincoln Park home for $3.9 million. Rahal took a loss of about $1 million after multiple price cuts from an initial asking price of $5 million in 2018.

New projects are also planned in Lincoln Park. JDL Development received the green light to build a seven-story, 79-unit residential building at 1623 North Halsted Street in January. A venture led by apartment developer Draper & Kramer bought the 26,000-square-foot lot of the former Royal George Theatre in July.
