The New York-based REIT and the city of Chicago last weekend launched the “Art on theMart” installation, drawing thousands of onlookers to the Chicago River, according to Curbed.

Vornado has agreed to an $8 million, 30-year commitment to the project, which will feature the light show on the building’s 2.5-acre facade for up to two hours a night Wednesday through Sunday from March to December.

The initial show features works from Diana Thater, Zheng Chongbin, Jason Salavon, and Jan Tichy. The project is managed by Obscura Digital, a San Francisco firm that has guided temporary light projections on structures including the Empire State Building, the Vatican and the Sydney Opera House, according to the Chicago Tribune. [Curbed]John O’Brien
