From TRD Chicago: The late boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s 81-acre property in southwest Michigan comes with a 3,900-square-foot house, a gym Ali built, potentially a ghost or two, and it’s all selling for an auspiciously precise price: $2,895,037.

“How many knockouts did Ali have? Thirty-seven,” said agent Tim Mitchell to Crain’s, explaining the exact number the property is going for. Mitchell is representing Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, for Cressy & Everett Real Estate.

Ali lived in the Berrien Springs property part-time since he bought the estate in 1975, spending summers at the house and much of his retirement until 2006. Since Ali’s death in 2016, his widow, Lonnie, has made her full-time residence in Arizona, where the couple were previously living. (She is also selling their mansion in Louisville, Kentucky for about $2 million.)

The property’s compelling history does not begin with the Alis, however. Al Capone’s lieutenant Louis Campagna is believed to have owned the land until 1955 when the Seventh Day Adventist Church converted it from a residence into a sanatorium. Several members of the Ali family reportedly told biographer Jonathan Eig about their encounters with ghosts while on the property. [Crain’s]Erin Hudson
