Fitness club Equinox has signed a deal to anchor the retail component of the Lincoln Common mixed-use project that’s rising on the site of the old Children’s Memorial Hospital.
Equinox will be located at the southeast corner of Fullerton and Lincoln avenues, Curbed reported. It will open later this year.
The $350 million Lincoln Common, being developed by McCaffery Interests, is expected to be completed next year.
This will be Equinox’s second location within about a mile, joining the one at 1750 North Clark Street. Meanwhile, Studio Three is building a fitness club across from the future Lincoln Common Equinox at 2401 North Halsted Street.
The six-acre Lincoln Common project will include two 20-story apartment towers, a six-story office building, an assisted living facility and 105,000 square feet of planned retail, including the new Equinox. The old hospital, which moved to Streeterville in 2012, was renamed the Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. [Curbed] — John O’Brien
